LOCAL WRESTLING SCHOOL BRINGS THE PAIN TO NOTTINGHAM
NOTTINGHAM’S NUMBER 1 PRO-WRESTLING TRAINING SCHOOL BRINGS A NEW PRIDE TO THE CITY, WITH ITS NAMESAKE DEBUT SHOW, HOUSE OF PAIN: EVOLUTION 1
British pro-wrestling was once on our TV screens once a week, up there with its globally acclaimed American cousins such as WWF (now WWE) and WCW. What happened to it? Well nothing actually, it’s always been there and continued to grow in popularity across the decades.
As of 14th July 2013, Nottingham will have its own pro-wrestling promotion to sink its teeth into, as Nottingham based training school House of Pain brings Evolution to a city of sport. The school has been a permanent fixture in the heart of the Nottingham community for 9 years, with a full time class schedule aimed at 3 tiers, beginner, intermediate and advanced providing something for everyone whatever age, skill or fitness level. HOP established academy shows in 2010 to showcase the talent of the most dedicated and skilled wrestlers, referees, managers and valets training with them.
Now, with the backing and blessing of Owner and Head Trainer Paul ‘Stixx’ Grint, a highly experienced and established British wrestler in his own right, promoter Harvey Dale will open the doors of the full blown House of Pain: Evolution promotion for the first time at the Britannia Hotel, smack bang in the middle of Nottingham City Centre in July. “When the idea was propositioned to me, I was all for lending the House of Pain name to Evolution, as long as it was done to the highest of standards” Stixx explains, “Dale has achieved this beyond my expectations. The roster is first class, and the match card he has arranged is littered with some of the UK’s hottest talent. So far, he has done the House of Pain name proud, it really will be a show not to be missed.”
Speaking of the man behind the operation, Nottingham resident Harvey Dale isn’t a man of few words, especially when it comes to wrestling, “I’ve been involved in the business as a manager, commentator and announcer for some time and I wanted to utilise my knowledge and contacts in the most productive way possible. Wrestling is nestled in the heart of Nottingham and with the backbone of a world class organisation like House of Pain, we intend to bring something very special to those who already love it and those will, once they experience House of Pain: Evolution first hand and see what we have to offer”.
