Main Event Wrestling – Planet of the Primate, Innisfree, Longbenton 27/01/17

MEW’s first show of 2017 is many things to many people. For many it will be their first wrestling show of the year, for some it will be the long awaited return of one of the Northeast wrestling scene’s biggest legends, Dave Carbon after more than 18 months in retirement. To Liam Slater it will be his first defense of his Northeast Championship. And for me it will be the end of approximately six months of organisation as the Calling Spots Championship Tournament comes to an end and the first ever Calling Spots champion is crowned. So without further ado here is our preview of the show. Continue reading

Interview with Sean McLaughlin, 1st December 2016

We talked and I got the information I needed to create a profile on him for our profile section. After some gentle badgering by Sean I eventually got round to creating it. Despite finding Sean incredibly friendly I was genuinely surprised at the popularity of his profile and as the number of views climbed Sean and I connected over silly banter to the point where I would now class him as a pal.
With that in mind when I realised he was going to be involved in the largest European wrestling show in my lifetime, Fear & Loathing IX, I asked him to take some pictures on the day and then chat to me about it at the next WCPW Loaded taping after the big show…

It’s Halloween weekend and the good folks at Premier British Wrestling have a scarily good evening of wrestling at Greenock Town Centre (sorry, I promise that shall be my last Halloween related pun). Rather than read my crap jokes let’s get straight into the announced matches and the order I predict they will occur. Continue reading

Main Event Wrestling: Toon Tussle Preview

FB_IMG_1466727778153

What a time to be a fan of wrestling based in the Northeast of England. Main Event Wrestling: Toon Tussle will be the fourth show in a busy month of wrestling and off the top of my head I can think of at least five other shows that could also have attended. New promotions seem to be popping up every other week and competition to put fans in seats have never been higher. However, while all the new companies fight to establish a brand and get their name out there another promotion is able brag that it has been established for over ten years and has entertained literally thousands of customers, many of whom may not even have been wrestling fans (remember my friend Kirsty anyone).
