MEW Northern Bash Review

I have been fortunate enough within the past few months to be welcomed into the world of MEW. A promotion that has been around for years, bringing to you some of the very best that both the North East and the UK have to offer. This past week they hosted their biggest show of the year, Northern Bash!

Joe Rage on becoming Erin Jacobs

Over recent years fans of the Northeast wrestling scene have been been spoiled as the scene has continued to grow and go from strength to strength. On top of the existing promotions like Main Event Wrestling new companies like Absolute and NORTH have been formed and provided a stage for the area’s top workers to showcase their talents. Not only are performers in the northeast incredibly talented in the ring but many of them have created their own personas that makes them stand out from the crowd. With characters such as the Sons of Ulaid, The Primate and even Mr Kill All Gimmicks himself, HT Drake at the forefront the northeast has never had such a strong talent pool as it does today.
Given the depth of talented performers it could be difficult for anyone to emerge and standout but throughout 2017 one man has managed to adapt him persona and make himself one of the more unique characters around. That character Erin Jacobs is the brainchild of the extremely talented Joe Rage and we were lucky enough to talk to Joe about his start in wrestling, how he became the performed he is today and how he created the Erin Jacobs character. On Sunday 17th September the O2 Academy played host to Insane Championship Wrestling and two Fight Club tapings (#67 and #68). Now those two tapings have been aired we are able to share our review of the event. ICW – The Infamous, 17/09/17, The O2 Academy, Newcastle

Newcastle is Insane Championship Wrestling’s home away from home. The city was the first place outside of Scotland to hold an ICW show and since then we have held more events then any other English town/city and this year we were lucky enough to host the company’s annual Square Go event. Wrestling fans in Newcastle always attend ICW shows in their droves and they are near enough to Scotland that a lot of the ICW faithful make the journey south of the border meaning that shows have a unique a blend of fans.
