Decide our next cover

It has been over one year since Kris Travis graced the front cover of our professional wrestling magazine, an issue before we made the switch to the current Paul Cooper designed cover art. Since then we have featured some of the world’s greats; from Neville to Nakamura via the many faces of Kane. However, despite two of the best wrestlers in the world, who just happen to be based in the UK, getting the ‘Paul Cooper treatment’ inside our magazine – Marty Scurll and Jimmy Havoc – nobody who currently performs on these shores regularly has featured on a recent cover of ours. To fix this, we are going to let YOU choose who goes onto the cover of our next issue. The 16 wrestlers involved were all chosen by Twitter over the past week.

As an added bonus, every single time you vote you will be entered in a competition to win the greatest prize we have ever given away.

Calling Spots TOURNAMENT

Each day, for 15 consecutive days, we will use Twitter to present you a “tournament match”. We will then ask who wins from that day’s “match”. You vote by replying to our Tweet with the name of the wrestler who you want to see win that round. The wrestler with the most mentions from you guys progresses. Easy.

There will be one outright winner, who will take front and centre of the cover of our next issue. The runner-up and winner of the third-place playoff will also feature on the cover of Calling Spots 16.

Votes will only count for the 24 hour period following the first Tweet about that day’s “match”. Please do not Tweet us the name of a wrestler not involved in that day’s “match”.

You can only vote once per day, but you can enter the competition multiple times by voting each day.

Once the “tournament” is finished, we will draw a name from a hat and one of you guys will win a signed, first edition copy of James Musselwhite’s beautiful ‘Portrait of a Wrestler’ book shipped anywhere in the world. This a truly unique prize, especially as they as not currently available to buy. Anybody who has ever seen James’ photos inside our magazine or on social media will know how beautiful this book is.

Disclaimer: This is NOT a real wrestling tournament (unfortunately) and is purely a for-fun way of our readers and the involved wrestler’s fans to see their favourite stars turned into Paul Cooper art. Once created, the individual pieces of art will be made available for the three wrestlers to use. Notable exclusions are Jimmy Havoc and Marty Scurll. This is purely because both men have recently had bespoke artwork created of/for them by Paul Cooper, which has featured inside Calling Spots. Marty and Jimmy are both friends of the magazine and it has been an honour to have worked with both over the past year.
